Stunning, Sparkling Wedding Details
Sparkle and shine are a beautiful way to make a wedding festive and exciting. It's easy and affordable to make your wedding sparkle. On your big day, add sparkle, shimmer, and shine with these bridal details.
Of course, the bride should sparkle more than anyone at the ceremony! Begin with a bridal gown with silver embroidery and crystal beading. Then add a veil with a beaded edge, crystal earrings and a necklace, and bridal shoes with a crystal accent. But that doesn't have to be all, you can wear delicate crystals in the bridal hairdo, a touch of crystals in the bouquet, and even a stunning bridal handbag by Judith Leiber. Let your bridesmaids in on the fun by giving them gorgeous crystal earrings, and add silver organza ribbon to their bouquets. Metallic shoes for bridesmaids are a nice, chic touch, and are versatile enough to be worn again.
Invitations with some shine are a festive way to invite your guests to your big day. A metallic ribbon band on the stationary coordinated with colored ink for the wording makes for a fun and elegant invitation. If you want even more shimmer, select invitations which have a narrow band of glitter around the edge. This would be especially pretty for stationery with a deckled edge. I knew one bride who stiched a tiny row of crystals to her invitations, which tied in with her jewelry. Last but not least, line the invitation envelopes with a metallic or pearlescent paper to make them more shiny and very elegant.
It has become very popular to add sparkly accents to the wedding flowers, which always looks fantastic. A simple way is to add a crystal tipped pin to each bouquet flower. Pearl tipped pins have been used for this purpose for a long time, usually with stephanotis blossoms, and crystals are a lovely update to an old style. Brides wearing crystal earrings and necklaces often find that this is a wonderful complement to their bridal ensemble. You can also add crystals by draping strands of “ab” crystals over the bouquets or by using crystal buttons to decorate a tailored bouquet handle wrap.
You can make your wedding flowers really shine with glitter edged accents. It works well with flowers like roses and also non-floral natural elements such as pinecones. It's easy-- dip the edges of the petals in glue, then dip them in glitter. They look beautiful anywhere, whether in the ceremony or the reception. Glitter dipped flowers or pinecones are going to be more economical than crystal-jeweled flowers in large numbers, so some brides will use the glitter flowers for centerpieces and reserve the crystal ones for their bouquets to complement their crystal earrings. Glitter doesn't have to be restricted to your floral decorations. You can also choose glittery flower girl shoes, glittery ribbon to make pew bows, and even glittery nailpolish for a fun pedicure (not for the bride's manicure, though, as it might look too prom-ish).
With metallic, crystal, and glittery accents, there are immeasurable ways to make your wedding sparkle. To give your white tablecloths character, try layering shimmery organza toppers on them. Mirrors around the room can enhance details of cut crystal chandeliers. Really have fun making your wedding as festive and sparkly as it can be.
