Women's Preferred Choice – Akoya Pearl Jewelry
Akoya pearls are from the sea rather than freshwater lakes and are usually found in the ocean lagoons of Japan. These enduring classics are offered in graduated elegance with incredibly high luster. Akoya pearls are perfectly round and hard, which makes excellent jewelry. These cultured pearls range in sizes from 2mm to 9mm. Akoya pearls are strikingly brilliant and these pearls reflect a rich orient that sets it apart from other pearls. Because of its clarity and intense luster and roundness these pearls are of a higher quality than the freshwater pearls. Women generally prefer these lustrous jewels because of their unique characteristics. The classic traditional pearls of the akoya oyster are some of the first pearls to be cultured (raised in pearl farms), and are widely appreciated throughout the world.
Another great feature of akoya pearls is that they are easy to match for earrings or necklace strands. These pearls are very consistent in shape and size. White akoya stud earrings are common in most pearl stores, but here in Hawaii, we design our pearl settings into beautiful tropical themes to give them that special appeal. These tropical designs are fashioned from shells, flowers, dolphins, turtles etc. We also carry plain stud earrings set in yellow gold, white gold and rose-gold.
Lovely perfectly round white stud earrings are always in demand and preferred by many women. The silky hues of our akoya pearl earrings are enriched with subtle overtones, which makes them top sellers. Some of these subtle overtones are warm and others are cool or bluish in overtone colors. Set in 14k gold studs with or without diamonds, these akoya jewels are the quintessence of elegance.
Usually akoya pearls are champagne, white, cream and yellow in color, but there are also lovely emerald green colored akoya pearls that are strung into breathtaking necklaces, multi-strand bracelets, pendants, single and cluster rings, also stud, drop and cluster earrings; broaches, cufflinks, and tie-tacks are made from these satin jewels as well. Many types of necklaces are available. Two popular lengths are the 14-16 inch choker and 17-19 inch princess necklace. A simple cultured pearl choker can go with virtually any outfit from casual to eveningwear, and with just about any neckline.
