A part of the Les Voyages Extraordinaires: Journey to the Center of the Earth line, the Stromboli earrings are crafted from 3.12 carats of round white diamonds, 5.26 carats of round yellow diamonds, 8.49 carats of round purple sapphires, and both white and yellow gold. It is estimated that each pair requires 220 hours of work, so the $280,000price tag is well deserved.
The Stromboli earrings mimic their inspiration. When pictured, Stromboli, a volcanic island in the Mediterranean, calls to mind the beautiful jewel tones of the sea as well as the fiery brim of a volcano. The earrings' purple sapphire- and diamond-encrusted wings practically erupt with strands of luminous yellow diamonds bursting with energy and light.
