Shouldn't your community have a women's history trail?
We encourage you to be part of this work. Some tips include:
- contact your public library and historical society and enlist
their support,
- start with established historical sites in your community and
reinterpret them to include women's history,
- read newspaper accounts of key events in history to find out
who was involved locally,
- look up the records of active organizations for a list of officers
and members,
- read geneaologies,
- peruse old census records for data on women and minorities,
- read old town histories that might include first-person reminiscences.
